Police said on Sunday that a 10 -year -old boy was killed, his body was filled in a suitcase and was thrown into a bush by his mother’s boyfriend.
Guwahati Police Deputy Commissioner (East) Mrinal Deka told PTI that the child’s mother filed a missing complaint on Saturday, stating that her child had not returned home from tuition.
He said, “We started an investigation and found a suitcase in a bush near the Bayastha temple. The boy was killed, filled inside the luggage and then thrown there,” he said.
Deka said that during interrogation, the mother’s lover confessed and took the police to the suitcase.
“We have arrested the man. The police have also detained the mother and questioned him for a possible role in the murder,” he said.
The DCP said that a forensic team and CID Sleiths visited the site and collected evidence.
He said, “We have sent the body for the post -mortem examination, which will be held on Monday. Further investigation is going on,” he said.
