16-year-old minor girl gang raped in UP: Police

Police said on Tuesday that a case of alleged gang-existence of a Dalit minor girl has come up in Kaushambi district of Uttar Pradesh, and the police have registered a case against three youths on the complaint of the victim’s father.

Additional Superintendent of Police Rajesh Singh said that on April 24, it was received that the 16 -year -old girl had gone to a relative’s house after being disturbed by something, and a missing report was filed.

He said that the girl’s father made an application on 27 April, alleging that Shailendra Saroj alias Zahid of the same village, his friend Sheru alias Nazar Ahmed and an unknown person put their daughter’s pulse and threatened to kill her.

Mr. Singh said that a case has been registered under the relevant sections of BNS, POCSO Act and Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.

Additional SP said that two teams have been formed to arrest the accused in the case and will be arrested soon.
