17 Congress leaders join BJP before Rahul Gandhi’s visit in Bihar

Patna:

A few days before Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s scheduled visit to Bihar, a major political shock, along with 17 prominent leaders of Katihar district, left the party and party to join the BJP.

Political change comes with serious allegations against senior Congress leader and six -time MP Tariq Anwar, making the rift within the party deepened and questioned the strength of the Congress in the state.

The dramatic defection was led by Vikas Singh, president of the Congress-condemned labor organization Intuch, who accused Tariq Anwar of promoting “the upper upper caste mentality” in both his actions and rhetoric.

“Hundreds and thousands of workers are ready to join BJP in the coming days.”

According to Mr. Singh, the decision of 17 influential upper-caste Congress leaders to switch to the sides with increasing resentment against the alleged prejudice and attitude of Mr. Anwar.

He alleged that the working style of Mr. Anwar had separated a large part of the upper caste supporters-an impressive polling block in the collision, where caste mobility often shapes electoral results.

The migration and caste resentment of leaders comes at a time when the Congress is already facing internal dissatisfaction within the India’s block.

Such developments can destroy the traditional support base of Tariq Anwar and tarnish their image, especially beyond the assembly elections.

Under the leadership of Mr. Anwar, the Congress is considered a stronghold for a long time, Katihar now seems to be politically weak.

The upper caste community, which dominate the region, can now get away from the Congress-if the possible electoral liability for the party is not rapidly addressed.

While Tariq Anwar has not yet publicly responded to the allegations, the episode has created a new challenge for his leadership. As a senior party and national face from Bihar, their credibility and collective appeal are being investigated.
