Kolkata:
The West Bengal government on Friday announced the replacement of the current police superintendents in both the minority police districts-which was on boil in the forbidden Mursidabad district, which was on boil after communal violence and riots at the beginning of this month, as protests against the Waqf (Amendment) Act.
There are two different “police districts” in Murshidabad district, namely Murshidabad and Jungipur, an Indian Police Service (IPS) superintendent and in-charge of the police district.
According to a notification issued by the state government on Friday evening, a copy of which is available with IANS, former Superintendent of Murshidabad Police, Surya Pratap Yadav has been transferred to a comparatively low important post of Commanding Officer of Narayani Battalion in Coach Behar district.
Yadav has been replaced by Kumar Sunny Raj, the then Superintendent of Ranaghat Police District in Nadia district.
Similarly, on Friday, the state government also ordered the replacement of Anand Roy, the then Superintendent of Jangipur Police District, which has again held a comparatively less important post of Commanding Officer of Commanding Officer of Eastern Frontier Rifles (EFR) in Salua in West Midnapur district.
Roy has been replaced by Amit Kumar Shaw, the then Deputy Commissioner (Traffic) of Kolkata Police.
Officially, the state government has described the transfer regularly.
The two police in Murshidabad were criticizing various classes to react late in preventing communal violence in the district district as they ignored early intelligence inputs about possible violence.
Even West Bengal Governor CV Anand Bose was important for the role of the state police in the matter.
In addition, on Friday, the National Commission for Women issued a statement that highlighted negligence and failure on the West Bengal government’s share to take preventive action against communal violence despite being sufficient and pre -intelligence.
