Shopian (Jammu and Kashmir):
In a joint operation, 34 Rashtria Rifles of the Indian Army, Special Operations Group (SOG) Shopian, and CRPF 178 Battalion arrested two terrorist colleagues in Shopian district, DK Por area of Jammu and Kashmir.
Security forces recovered two pistols, four grenades, 43 live rounds and other rising materials from their possession.
The Shopian police have registered an FIR, and further investigation is underway to investigate their links and activities.
This action is an important milestone in the ongoing investigation into illegal and destructive activities in the field. This highlights the dedication of the Shopian police to neutralize the dangers for national security and maintain peace and order.
On 13 May, three militants associated with Lashkar-e-Taiba (late) were killed in Shukro One area of Keller in the shopkeeper district of South Kashmir, police sources confirmed.
According to a top police officer, a large-scale cordon-end-search operation was launched in the forests of Keller after obtaining specific inputs about the presence of some terrorists in the area.
As the security forces started a comb operation in the Shukro forest area of Keller, the terrorists hiding in the area set fire to a joint team of police and army personnel, causing a fierce gun.
In the upcoming exchange of the fire, three terrorists associated with late were neutralized. However, the identity of the slain terrorists is yet to be confirmed.
Earlier in April, after the Pahalgam attack, the Srinagar police made extensive discovery at several places across the city, which in the residences of Over Ground Workers (OGWS) and the terrorist associates of terrorist organizations of terrorist organizations moving ahead of investigation in cases registered under the illegal activities (UAPA).
