3 suspected Naga rebels killed in an encounter with security forces

Three suspected terrorists of Naga rebel group, NSCN-K (Angamai) were killed in an encounter late yesterday evening. Four automatic rifles were also recovered from the spot. A fierce gun battle took place between the security forces and a heavy armed group of militants on Sunday near the Arunachal-Nagaland border on Sunday.

There was a struggle at a remote place near the Indo-Myanmar border located between Arunachal Pradesh in Som district of Nagaland and Ponchu in Longing district of Longwa.

Encounter time period

On Friday night, a 15-member heavy armed group of the National Socialist Council of Nagaland-K (Angamai) faction kidnapped two people of a construction firm from Ponchu in Arunachal Pradesh. Subsequently, security forces began a discovery and re -operation for two people – Janlung Wangpan, 35 and Mohammad Giasuddin, 26.

During this time, security forces found a tip about the presence of terrorists near the border, which could be the same group of rebels. Para special forces were planted, and a special operation was launched. The operation concluded with the recovery of three bodies.

According to sources in the Arunachal Pradesh Police, the bodies have been handed over to the Nagaland Police for identity and other necessary procedures.

Of the two people who were abducted, while Janlung Wangpan has been rescued, Mohammad Giasuddin is missing.
