3 trampled for death by 2 wild elephants in the forest of Madhya Pradesh


Shahdol:

An official said that two wild elephants on Monday killed three persons in separate incidents in Beohari Forest Range in Shahdol district of Madhya Pradesh.

Jambos turned to the death of Umesh Cole (40) in Sanousi village, which is about 25 km from Behiri tehsil headquarters, while his wife managed to climb a tree and escape from his anger, said Sub Divisional Officer (Buhihari One) Resham Singh Dhurve.

“In the second incident, Tuskers killed Devgania Baiga (65) in Dhonda village, about 27 km from Beohari. In the third incident, both Jumbo killed Mohan Lal Patel (8) in Koluha-Gatwa Barach village. All these incidents said between 6AM and 8AM.

He said, “Elephants went out of Bandhavgarh National Park and were going to Sanjay Gandhi Tiger Reserve via Banas River as an attack.

Taking X in X, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said that the officers have been instructed to provide Rs 25 lakh every 25 lakh rupees as compensation to the families of the deceased.

He also directed the forest officials to investigate the death of three persons who were collecting tendu leaves (used to roll the bidis).

Incidentally, deaths have occurred after the state government planned Rs 47.11 crore on 13 May on 13 May to improve the management of elephants to curb such incidents.
