Police said a 47 -year -old man was arrested and sent to jail on Monday, four days later he raped an eight -year -old girl during a wedding ceremony.
The accused have been identified as Nandkishore.
Additional Superintendent of Police (South) Anushika Verma said that on April 24, a case was registered after the rape of a minor girl by an unknown person in a village under the boundary of Visharatganj police station.
The police later started an investigation and arrested Nandkishore on Monday from Visharatganj-Atranchedi Road.
The accused was produced before the court, who sent him to jail.
According to Visharatganj station house officer Satish Kumar, the accused told the police that the minor girl came to the village with her family to attend the wedding of her relative on 24 April. He admitted that he lured the girl and raped her during the ceremony.
