6 students, driver was killed after a truck collided with truck in Punjab: Police

Chandigarh:

Police said six school children and a driver died when the SUV was hitting a truck on Wednesday in Samana in Patiala district of Punjab.

The incident took place on Samana-Petiala Road when the SUV was giving students back from school.

Police said six out of nine children died in the vehicle, while a child was seriously injured. The deceased children were in the age group of 12–13 years.

The driver was also killed in the accident, while the SUV was badly damaged.

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has expressed grief over the incident.

Shiromani Akali Dal Chef Suhbir Singh Badal also condemned the dead.

“His soul can rest with peace. My heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families.
