Durg:
Police said on Monday that a six -year -old girl was sexually harassed and murdered and her body was kept inside a closed car in Durg city of Chhattisgarh.
On Sunday, three suspects have been detained for questioning in connection with the incident in Mohan Nagar police station area.
An official said that the girl had gone to her relative’s house for a ceremony on the ninth day of the ‘Navratri’ festival in the morning, and when she did not return home by evening, her family members started a discovery, an official said.
He said that the complaint of a missing person was later lodged, and the police found his body inside a closed car in the neighborhood at night.
The official said that the girl’s body bored marks in the body, and the medical report confirmed the sexual attack.
He said that a case was registered, and three suspects, including the owner of the car and a relative of the girl, have been detained for questioning.
Angered by the incident, locals barbarized the car and set fire on Sunday night. However, the police brought the situation under control and drowned the flames.
On Monday, the girl’s relatives protested with her body outside the police station. The protesters also stopped the police when the suspects were being taken to the hospital for medical examination.
