7 dead after treatment by “fake” cardiologist in Madhya Pradesh

Officials said on Sunday that seven persons were allegedly killed after being treated by a fake cardiologist at a missionary hospital in Damoh district of Madhya Pradesh, which led NHRC to start an investigation into the case.

NHRC member Priyank Kanongo said that a team of National Human Rights Commission will organize camps in Damoh from 7 to 9 April.

According to a complaint lodged by a local resident with NHRC, ‘Dr. The person using the name ‘N John Camem, who was asked to work in the hospital, showed himself to be educated and trained from abroad.

The complainant claimed that the real name of the person is Narendra Vikramaditya Yadav. He misused the name of a famous cardiologist of the United Kingdom, Professor John Camem to mislead patients and died in the complaint due to his wrong treatment.

Mission Hospital officials could not be contacted on this issue.

In a post on X on Friday, Kanongo said that a case of untimely death of seven persons came to light in a missionary hospital in Damoh, where a fake doctor was working on patients in the name of treatment of heart disease.

According to the complaint, the said missionary hospital has been covered under the Pradhan Mantri Ayushman Yojana and hence government money has also been misused. The National Human Rights Commission has ordered an inquiry, he said.

“The investigation team of the National Human Rights Commission will constitute and investigate and investigate from 7 April to 9 April to camp in Damoh. If a victim or any other person wants to provide information related to the case, they can meet the investigation team in Damoh,” Kango said in a post on Sunday.

He said that the investigation team would investigate the organization and persons mentioned in the complaint, including administrative officials, he said.

Deepak Tiwari, a resident of Jabalpur Naka, said in his complaint that between January and February this year, many people died due to treatment by an ineligible and unauthorized doctor in the cardiology department of Mission Hospital of Damoh.

The complaint states that in the last one and a half months, ‘Dr. N John Camem ‘treated the people in the cardiology department of the hospital.

The real name of the said doctor is Narendra Vikramaditya Yadav, who was working in the cardiology department of the hospital under fake name and patients died due to their wrong treatment, it was alleged.

The complaint claimed that it has also been revealed that the concerned doctors have been in constant controversies in the past and do not stay in any place for a long time.

Damoh Collector Sudhir Kochhar said that a complaint has been received in this matter and it is being investigated.

He said that further action will be taken on the basis of the investigation report.

After receiving information about “serious irregularities” in the Mission Hospital, a written complaint has been filed with NHRC and an inquiry has been ordered on it, the complainant Tiwari said.
