8 killed, 2 injured in car-tractor collision in Katiyar, Bihar: Police


Katihar, bihar:

Police said on Tuesday that eight people died and two other people were injured in a collision between a car and a tractor in Katihar district of Bihar.

Car passengers were returning from a wedding ceremony when the accident took place at the Sameli Block Office on Monday and Tuesday night, saying that efforts to identify the victims have been said.

“At least eight persons, all men, died and two others were injured when an SUV in which he was traveling, collided with a tractor, who collided with a tractor coming from the opposite direction on NH -31 near the Sameli block office,” Katihar SP Vaibhav Sharma told PTI.

Police said the police immediately reached the spot and the victims were rushed to the nearest government hospital, where eight were declared dead, the police said.

He said that both the injured are undergoing treatment in the hospital.

According to the locals, the victims are residents of Supaul, the SP said, it is believed that all the victims were traveling in the SUV.

He said that the dead bodies have been sent for the post -mortem examination and further investigation is going on.
