BJP versus protest at temple next to popular Delhi fish mart

New Delhi:

A popular fish market in South Delhi’s posh Chittaranjan Park neighborhood is at the center of a large -scale political row after a viral video, with some people objections to the sale of fish next to a temple and saying that it is damaging their feelings.

Fish stalls attracted the people of the National Capital Region in market number 1 of Chittaranjan Park. There is a black temple next to the stalls that the residents say that the market is as old as it is.

The video shows a group of people telling the vendors of the fish that “this is not right” and that the temple environment should be “pure”. “This is wrong. Sanatan says that we cannot harm anyone,” a person is heard saying. He also says that serving the flesh to the goddess is “imaginary” and there is no evidence in Hindu religious scriptures. “Some people believe this. But what is happening next to this temple is harming the feelings of Sanatanis like us,” he said.

Serving meat to the gods is a common thing in many temples in the country, especially in eastern India, where many communities follow the Shakta tradition.

In the video, the man is shown saying that the Delhi Development Authority will also be “fixed”. “DDA cannot run, we will fix their mistakes. The whole country is watching,” he said.

In the video, a person is shown stating that the market shopkeepers established the temple decades ago. One of the protesters respond, “If I fight it legally, it will be a long process. The main issue is that it looks wrong next to the temple. I can’t understand it.”

The video then asks a person about a customer about “biology” – which means killing a living creature – next to the temple, which also has a statue of Lord Hanuman. Customer replies that animal practice is common in many temples.

Trinumool Congress MP Mahua Motra shared the video and accused “BJP goons” of threatening the Bengalis who ate fish. “It has never happened in 60 years, the residents say,” he said in a post on X. He said that it was “present” from a three -month -old BJP government in the national capital.

Sharing the Ms. Motra Post, former Delhi minister and AAP leader Saurabh Bhardwaj said that the DDA has allocated fish shops and is not part of an illegal encroachment. “If the BJP had a problem with CR Park Bengalis with fish eating, then they should have said in their manifesto. Bengalis in CR Park is one of the most educated communities in Delhi. Their feelings and food habits should be respected. I am a vegetarian, and why do I have any problem in their food habits, BJP is causing problems in such a peaceful field?” He asked.

Chittaranjan Park is part of the Greater Kailash assembly constituency which was represented by Mr. Bhardwaj thrice in a line. He lost to BJP’s Shikha Roy in the February election, after which the BJP came to power.

The BJP has crossed the allegation of the opposition leader and alleged that the video posted by Ms. Motra is “touched” and its purpose is to harass peace. Delhi BJP chief Virendra Sachdeva has said that fish traders in Chittaranjan Park have always respected the sanctity of the temple.

“Fish markets are legally allocated and required area. Fish traders have entered high levels of hygiene in the area and regularly participated in CR Park’s social religious activities. Videos posted on social media in Sri Park.

BJP leader Amit Malviya shared a video in which a journalist visits the market and asks people if they have been threatened. In the video, the temple priests and some other people deny any such incident. “TMC MP Mahua Moitra posted a video from CR Park in Delhi, alleging that some people were threatening sellers in the DDA -Annumodized Fish Market located next to a temple. The video is false and coined. It seems that this is the intention of making provisions – Shri Malviya said in a post on X.
