New Delhi:
A Delhi court stayed till 21 April on Wednesday, ordered further investigation against Law Minister Kapil Mishra for his alleged role in the February 2020 riots.
Special Judge Kaveri Baweja ordered Mr. Mishra after going to court with a petition against the decision of the magisterial court.
The court also issued a notice to the complainant Mohammad Ilyas, on whose petition the magistrate ordered the FIR, and asked him to reply by 21 April.
Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Vaibhav Chaurasia “Prima Feshi” was found a cognitive offense against Mr. Mishra on 1 April, requiring further investigation.
The judge said, “It is clear that Mishra was in the area at the time of the alleged crime … further investigation was required.”
The Delhi Police had opposed Ilyas’ petition, saying that Mr. Mishra had no role in the riots.
Violence took place on February 24, 2020 in North -East Delhi, after protests on citizenship law, 53 were dead and many were injured.
The police had informed the magistrate that “a plan” was “being created” to transfer the defect on Mishra.
The role of Mr. Mishra was already investigated in a big conspiracy behind the riots.
“DPSG (Delhi Protest Support Group) chat shows that Chakka Jam was already planned well, such as on 15 and 17 February, 2020. Police investigation revealed that a plan was made to move the blame on Mishra.”
Ilyas sought the Fir against Mr Mishra, then Sho of Dayalpur and Five Others, Including BJP MLA Mohan singh Bisht and Former BJP MLA Jagdish Pradhan and Satpal Sansad.
