On Friday afternoon, Shri Ram Rao, or KTR said that his party would press for an inquiry by federal agencies and would also sing the ICICI Bank for a loan sanctioned loan without verifying the ownership details of the land, announcing that its credibility was “compromised”.
The BRS leader announced, “Since the Congress government came to power 15 months ago, Chief Minister Revantha Reddy is running the kingdom with a ‘3D’ mantra – deception, destruction, distraction – wreaking havoc on the lives of the poor and middle class,” the BRS leader announced.
The Revent Reddy Sarkar, he claimed, “under the guise of development” is engaged in financial financial exploitation (of farmers and poor). “Horror was seen across the country as the trees were surprised and the environment was destroyed near Hyderabad Central University.”
He said, “It was not only about environmental damage … it led the death of sound -free creatures and exposed a grand financial conspiracy associated with forest land adjacent to the university,” he said.

KTR claimed a criminal conspiracy and betrayal of Telangana people. “Bulldozers were sent overnight … Hundreds of acres of trees were destroyed in the Rs 10,000 crore scam.”

The dispute revolves around the ruling Congress plans for redevelopment of about 400 acres of land adjacent to the university. This led to protests by students and workers, who argued the use of bulldozers that they violate the orders of the Supreme Court and endangered wildlife in the region.

The Supreme Court last week ruled against the state government, cited a report that warned of “deforestation” and an interim migration on any activity other than the safety of trees.
Congress, BJP consent?
According to KTR, the “conspiracy” also included the opposition BJP.
According to him, a BJP MP introduced Mr. Reddy in a company, Trust Investment Advisor Private Limited, which was bypassed for Rs 160 crore – fiscal responsibility and budget management rules.
Another company, Bekan Trustepe, carried out the scam, claimed.
The scam, KTR has alleged, began with a government order, which transferred 400 acres of land to Telangana State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation, or TSIIC to Rs 75 per acre.
But this transfer was actually never written in books, he claimed.
Instead, TSIIC then ‘pledged’ land it was not really, and this land, according to the 1980 Forest Protection Act, the state was not allowed to take loans anyway.
And then, KTR claimed, ICICI Bank approved a loan of Rs 10,000 crore – when the market rate was Rs 26,9000, the land was worth Rs 30,000 per yard – without checking ownership.
The state, BRS leader further claimed, then revised his own evaluation – from Rs 52 per acre to Rs 41.6, which reduced the total value from Rs 30,000 crore, which fell below Rs 17,000 crore.
KTR has alleged that it is complicit by the state, broker firms and ICICI Bank. “Selling forest land is wrong … selling land that you are not even yourself, it is bad,” he announced.
“If BRS returns …”
KTR, whose party was defeated in the 2023 assembly elections – its first defeat since 11 years ago – BRS contacted the Reserve Bank of India, CBI and other federal agencies and financial guards, to demand a complete investigation.
And, he announced, if Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitarman themselves do not order an inquiry, it would indicate ‘BJP-Congress collusion’.
