Om Birla fulfilled a commitment, which he had done six years ago, which was martyred in the 2019 Pulwama terror attack by presenting a customary gift to 25 -year -old Reena Meena, daughter of the previous Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) soldier Hemraj.

In the tradition of Hindu wedding, Bhat or Mayra is a ritual where a brother gifts his sister on the occasion of his daughter’s wedding.
Om Birla and the city offered a formal ‘Odhani’ and other gifts to the late jawan’s wife Madhubala, which in turn beautified them with a traditional tilak and performed a Aarti.
Assuming the role of a brother for Madhubala, Om Birla raised her support and honored her pledge by actively participating in marriage rituals.
Since Hemraj’s martyrdom, Om Birla visited the family every year on Raksha Bandhan and maintained a close bond with him.
Om Birla, who vowed to stand with the martyr’s family after the Pulwama attack, is engaged in his life, celebrating festivals and offers support.
On February 14, 2019, 40 CRPF personnel died as a result of the Pulwama terror attack.
The attack occurred when a vehicle-borne suicidal attacker targeted a convoy from Jammu and Kashmir and Kashmir on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway.
Pakistan-based terrorist group Jaish-e-Mohammed claimed responsibility for the attack.
