Google Pixel 9A is now eligible for Android 16 beta program

Google on Thursday released the Android 16 Beta 4 update with several fixes for several bugs in Tow. However, it also brings important news to owners of the latest Google Pixel 9A. According to the Mountain view-based tech veteran, the handset, which was launched on March 19, is now eligible for Android 16 beta program. It enables developers and beta testers, who have Pixel 9A who test their application on their phone and test their application before the operating system (OS).

Android 16 Beta 4 for Pixel 9A

Google’s release notes Mention the Pixel 9A in the list of devices that are eligible to get the latest Android 16 beta 4 updates. With addition, the entire Pixel 9 lineup is called Sangat with the beta version of the upcoming OS. The revised eligibility list of Android beta programs is as follows:

  1. Google Pixel 9 Series
  2. Google Pixel 9A
  3. Google Pixel 8 Series
  4. Google Pixel Tablet
  5. Google pixel fold
  6. Google Pixel 7 Series
  7. Google Pixel 6 Series

If you have nominated your Google Pixel 9A or other handset in the lineup in the company’s beta program, then you should automatically receive over-the-air updates. Updates are usually released in a phased approach and thus, it may take a few days to be available to all beta testers. To check Android 16 beta update, check for Setting App> System> Software Update> System Update> Update.

Once installed, the device will reboot to complete the process.

Alternatively, Google allows you to flash the factory image of Android 16 Beta 4 on your pixel. However, this is not a direct process and some specialization is required. It should be noted that beta updates are severely less stable than standard software updates. They may have bugs or glitches that can obstruct the device’s purpose. Thus, users should proceed with caution. In addition, it is not appropriate to install beta updates on primary device.
