JD Vance on PM Modi’s approval rating

Jaipur:

Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, US vice -president JD Vance on Tuesday described him as a “special person” and that the approval rating of the Indian leader “envy me”.

In a address at an event here, Vance also said that PM Modi is a “tough negotiator”, which “a tough bargain” to fight for India’s industry.

PM Modi hosted a dinner for Vance at his official residence on Monday night after interacting with the American leader.

Vance said in his comment, “I told Prime Minister Modi last night, he got the approval rating that will envy me.”

The US vice -president also talked about how his son Ivan preferred to eat at dinner that he wanted to live in India.

“And yesterday, after having dinner in the Prime Minister’s house, the food was very good and the Prime Minister was so kind for our three children that Ivan later came to me and said,” Dad, you know, I think I might live in India, “Vance said.”

He said, “But I think after about 90 minutes at the Great Palace in Jaipur Suraj, he suggested that we might go to England. So you take good with good here.”

Vance also called PM Modi a “special person” and criticized the previous US administration, which he had described as an attempt to adopt the “preaching” vision towards PM Modi.

He said, “We are no longer here to campaign that you work in any special way. Often in the past, Washington contacted Prime Minister PM Modi with the attitude of campaigning, or even with a kripalu,” he said.

“The former administration saw India as a source of low -cost labor. On the one hand, he even criticized the Prime Minister’s government, certainly the most popular in the democratic world,” he said.

Vance said that PM Modi is a difficult negotiator and this is one of the reasons “Why do we respect him.” “And we do not blame Prime Minister Modi for fighting for India’s industry. But we blame American leaders of the past for our workers to fail to do so. And we believe that we can fix the mutual gains between both the United States and India,” he said.
