Hyderabad:
Alleging that tribals and youth are being killed in anti -Maoist campaigns in Chhattisgarh, BRS President K Chandrasekhar Rao urged the Center to stop ‘Operation Kagar’.
Addressing a public meeting held in Hanumakonda district on Sunday to celebrate BRS’s Silver Jubilee, he held talks with CPI (Maoists).
“Today, the central government, in the name of Operation Kugar, is killing youth and tribals in Chhattisgarh. It is not appropriate,” he said.
Referring to the alleged resolution of the Maoists for peace talks, he said that ending ultras with the use of force (by Center) is not in the spirit of democracy.
He said, “I am requesting the central government. It is not democracy to go to kill people. Operation Kugar should be stopped immediately. Give the Naxalites a Democratic Space and hold talks,” he said.
The former Chief Minister demanded the approval of the people to pass a resolution in this regard and send it to the center.
The Maoists recently said in an alleged press note, the Center and the government of Chhattisgarh (facing the threat of Naxal violence) jointly launched an operation ‘Kagar’ against them, which they call the “revolutionary movement”.
Rao’s demand occurred on a day when a group of intellectuals and others urged the Chief Minister of Telangana to announce a ceasefire to declare the Center to declare a ceasefire and try to convince the Center to agree to agree to peace talks with the CPI (Maoists).
The group, including retired Professor Hargopal, retired judge Justice Chandra Kumar and others, presented a memorandum to Reddy in this regard.
This development comes against the background of intensive-Maoist operations being conducted by security forces in Chhattisgarh and other states.
A large-scale operation against the Naxalites, which included around 10,000 security personnel along the Chhattisgarh-Telangana border, continued, the Maoists issued a statement for the fifth day on Friday, in which they called to stop the practice and stop “peace talks”. KCR, which has been placing a low profile since its party’s defeat in the 2023 assembly elections, alleged that the Congress government in the state has failed on all fronts, including ensuring effective supply of drinking water and electricity and addressing farmers’ issues.
The Congress made promises for power, including increasing social security pension, a tola gold to bride at the time of marriage and even a tola gold, but people cheated people after coming to power.
“No one can defeat the Congress in lying. As the local leaders were not enough, Duplicate Gandhi came from Delhi (for the election campaign). He clapped and danced on the stage. He said that KCR is paying Rs 10,000 for the ‘Rithu Bandhu’ scheme for farmers and we will pay Rs 15,000.
The Congress government’s plan of free travel for women in the state -run RTC buses triggered petty quarrels (for seats) among women only in buses. Women are now dismissing the scheme, they said.
He has alleged that due to the failures of the Congress government and the newly formed Hyderabad disaster response and the failures of the asset conservation agency (Hydraa), there has been a sharp decline in land prices in the state.
Referring to the issue of falling trees in the land next to the University of Hyderabad (UOH), he said that the government should use its discretion to sell land and not the land of universities.
He said that BRS would return to power after the next assembly elections in 2028.
KCR, who has faced Flacks not to come out publicly since the loss of BRS election defeat, said he would be active in organizing the party’s activities.
The Chief Minister’s criticism of a Revantha Reddy of the Chief Minister for not going against him in the assembly sessions, he said that the government is not answering even when “children” (a clear reference for his son and BRS executive president KT Ram Rao) is asking questions.
He has also mentioned the alleged comments of some contractors that commissions are being demanded from them for the release of money.
The Congress has always been “villain number one” for Telangana as it has merged Telangana with Andhra region to construct undivided Andhra Pradesh against the wishes of the people and later killed 400 youths agitating for Telangana state in 1969.
Training guns on BJP, KCR said that the NDA government at the Center has not even paid Rs 11 to Telangana despite being in power for the last 11 years.
He said that the Center has not given national status for a single irrigation project in the state.
KCR also mentioned the alleged comments of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the past about the formation of Telangana that the UPA government had killed mother (Andhra Pradesh) to give birth to children (Telangana). The comments are seen as an insult to Telangana.
Rejecting the KCR attack on the Congress government, Minister of State Pongulet Srinivas Reddy challenged the former CM to debate in the assembly on the issues of people.
The Congress government is not only continuing the schemes implemented by the previous BRS government, but have introduced new programs despite financial difficulties, Mr. Reddy said.
