After taking the X platform, Mr. Kharge wrote, “Today is a very special day for me because today is labor day. The development of any country is impossible without workers. Heartfelt greetings and congratulations to millions of workers across the country on International Labor Day.
He reiterated the Congress party’s commitment to workers, stating, “For the Congress party, ‘Shramev Jayate’ is not just a slogan.
For the “Congress party, ‘Shramev Jayate” is not just a slogan; It is our resolve to provide justice and social security to crores of workers. Today, the future of workers, laborers and hardworking youth of the country has been threatened by the Modi government, “Mr. Kharge has written in his X post.
Mr. Kharge carried forward three major concerns about the struggles of workers under the Modi government.
“First, MNREGA – which is a guarantee of Congress to appoint the weakest workers, the ax has been continuously hit by the Modi government. The budget has reduced. 7 crore workers were dropped from MNREGA. The daily wages were not increased. We demand that MNREGA workers should increase by Rs 400 per day and their working days should be increased for 150 days.”
He said, “Secondly, labor unions are completely against the labor code of the Modi government because in this, the government has extended daily work hours and allowed 300 factory workers to set fire at a time. All internationally approved provisions, which are minimum wages, retirement benefits, social security, and 8 hours of work, which leaves all of the government.”
He further said, “Third, unemployment is the biggest problem in the country. With the arrival of the Modi government, the youth of the country are stuck in a maze of paper leaks, recruitment exams, corruption, corruption, corruption and unemployment. There are 10 lakh vacancies in the central government alone. The government has finished 5.1 lakh regular jobs, and 91 percent of the central government has increased in terms of regular regular jobs.
Mr. Kharge praised the Congress -led state governments for making laws to support the Gig workers and unorganized sector, accusing the modi government of failing to provide social security.
“Congress and state governments have enacted laws for the giggling workers and laborers of the unorganized sector, but the Modi government has not given them any social security. Big claims are being made only on paper. Today, we should once again resolve to fight and struggle for the rights of workers.
