Despite the party’s boycott call, Bengal BJP leader Dilip Ghosh criticized within the party after attending the inauguration of the Digha Jagannath temple with Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. His relationship with him has placed the party in a difficult place

Kolkata:

Bengal BJP leader Dilip Ghosh, who took his highest seat Tally to his highest seat during the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, seems to be engaged in the battle of perceptions with his own partimen.

The fierce, vocal leader surprised his colleagues by attending the inauguration ceremony of the Jagannath temple in Digha at the invitation of the state government. But the BJP has become more difficult to rescue, which is Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and the time spending time with her entry.

The first speaking Union Minister and Bengal BJP chief Sukanta was Sukanta Majumdar.

“Dilip Ghosh participates or not, his personal choice,” he said. He said, “The party does not support it, especially at a time when Hindus have been targeted in Murshidabad … Their plight is being ignored by participating in it. The party collectively decided to boycott the incident,” he said.

“Those who want to criticize will criticize. Dilip Ghosh does not care who takes permission to visit an eyebrow or temple,” Mr. Ghosh shot Bake.

He said that he has visited Jyotoring, Char Dham and other pilgrims.

“This is a very big temple near my house. We cannot visit Puri all the time, so I took Darshan (Payment of Payment). Crores and crores of devotees like me will come … who had built or inaugurated it will be forgotten,” Mr. Ghosh shot back.

The BJP has been abandoned in an uncomfortable situation as the videos of Mamata Banerjee’s videos, despite the bitter political differences between the video of Dilip Ghosh and his wife, were widely shared on social media.

BJP leader Swapan Dasgupta has now called for action against Dilip Ghosh.

In a post on the social media platform X, the former Rajya Sabha MP said, “The resentment of the BJP Bengal workers at the ground on this clear betrayal by the former state president is very deaf to ignore the national leadership.”

Mr. Ghosh is not in the mood to go back, although he ignores himself, which despite being a person who gives considerable respect within the party.

During the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, he was removed from Midnapur seat and sent against Kirti Azad of Trinmool Congress to contest from Bardhaman-Durgapur seat.

Not only did Mr. Ghosh lose the election, the BJP also lost the seat of Midnapur.

Many believe that the party won that Dilip Ghosh was repeated as a candidate. They also maintain that taking Dilp Ghosh to Bardhaman-Durgapur was inspired to clip his wings from its rivals within the party.

Mr. Ghosh was angry and even the party stallwart, Atal Bihari Vajpayee, was also killed on new people with a quote, which was seen as an excavation in the Leader of Opposition Suvandu Officer.

As the Suvendu officer leads the allegations against the government on the issue of Jagannath temple, the Trinamool Congress is sharing pictures of Suwendu Adikari with Mamata Banerjee during the Congress plan and foundational incidents.

At that time, Mr. Adhikari was with the supporters of the temple in Trinumool Congress and Digha, close to his hometown and Bastian, Kanthi (Conte).

Dilip Ghosh, despite her terrible rivalry with Trinmool Congress, has maintained a cordial relationship with Mamata Banerjee.

He said, “Whenever I talk to the Chief Minister, it is respectable and humble. I inquire about his health, and he is about me. No one was closed with him. It was a courtesy meeting because I was invited for the inauguration,” he said.

For BJP, it is a difficult issue to handle.
Dilip Ghosh is not a lighter. He has raised and nurtured the party in the state, giving it his best electoral performance till date.

Even on this issue, he challenged the party and said, “I have done nothing against the party’s policy. Have you heard that the party has boycotted?”

Mr. Ghosh doubled Suvendu Adikari without naming him, “Those who are teaching Dilip Ghosh about BJP, discipline and Hindutva, see their history in the last five to ten years. What they have done for BJP, what they have done for Hindutva and country?”

Ghosh said, “Whatever the party needed and I was given responsibilities for him, I performed accordingly and if they need me again, I will do it again.”

When asked about the protests against him by party workers, Mr. Ghosh said, “I do not butter to anyone and I don’t ask anyone for help. I have a mission, and I live and fight for it”.

“Dilip Ghosh gave 77 MLAs to the party, where are they left now? Why are they left? Why are MPs, MLAs, District Council members leaving the party? Why is the party on the slope downwards when I left the President?” He said.

The BJP is yet to select a state president in Bengal. There are calls for action against Dilip Ghosh, but with elections earlier next year, the BJP will have to set its home in order and deal with facility and infection.

How the party treats Dilip Ghosh, which comes from the RSS background, it will be a challenge as it takes a strong trinomool Congress in West Bengal.
