Maharashtra BJP chief Chandrashekhar Bawankul urges the workers of the party “empty” Congress, including his leaders

Pune:

Maharashtra BJP chief and Minister of State Chandrashekhar Bawankule has allegedly urged the party employees to vacate the Congress by including their leaders, inviting Iri of the Grand Old Party. The Congress has said that the party belongs to the people, and they are “ideologically” associated with it.

Addressing local workers during a party event in Pune on Sunday, Mr. Bawanool made alleged remarks.

In an audio clip of his speech that appears on social media, the BJP leader said, “Bring people like Sangaram Thopte to the party. Empty Congress. Do not worry about what will happen if Congress leaders join BJP. What will happen to their workers.”

Faith of Congress and former MLAs of Bhor constituency recently joined Kesar Party in Mumbai.

Later, while talking to reporters, Mr. Bawanakul said that Congress leaders do not have the ability to increase the party’s Aadhaar.

“There is nothing left in the Congress. No one is going towards Sharad Pawar’s party, and everyone has forgotten Uddhav Thackeray. If they cannot handle their party, what should we do? If the people of their party are going, what should I do,” he said.

Reacting to Mr. Bawanakul’s statement, Congress MP Varsha Gikwad said that the party belongs to the people and he is ideologically associated with it.

He said that many people have targeted the Congress in the past, but the party belongs to the people, and they are associated with it for its ideology.

Ms. Gaikwad said that instead of passing such comments about other parties, leaders should take care of their folds.
