The Border Security Force (BSF) has stopped the retreat ceremonies beaten in all three border check posts with Pakistan in Punjab-Attari-Vaga, Hussainwala, and Sadki-public security until further orders.
However, the daily reduction of the national flag at sunset will continue as usual, BSF said in a statement.
After nine terrorist bases in Pakistan and Pakistan -occupied Kashmir (Pojk), BSF’s decision was destroyed by India on April 22 as a ventilative measure against the Pahgam terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir in which 26 tourists were brutally murdered.
Indian armed forces launched Operation Sindoor in the early hours of Wednesday, targeting terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan -occupied Jammu and Kashmir (Pojk).
The attacks executed by the Indian Armed Forces targeted nine major terrorist camps associated with Jai-e-Mohammed (Gem), Lashkar-e-Tabiba (Late), and Hizbul Mujahideen. Four targets were located inside Pakistan and the remaining five were located in Pakistan -occupied Kashmir (POK).
Yesterday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a high-level meeting with the secretaries of various ministries of the Government of India and the Departments of the Government of India to review the national preparations and inter-ministerial coordination in the light of recent developments regarding national security.
PM Modi emphasized the need for spontaneous coordination between ministries and agencies to maintain operational continuity and institutional flexibility. The PM reviewed the plan and preparation of the ministries for the current situation.
The secretaries have been directed to make a comprehensive review of the operation of their respective ministries and to ensure the foolish functioning of the required systems with readiness, emergency response and special attention to the internal communication protocol.
Cabinet Secretary, senior officials of the Prime Minister’s Office, and the Secretary of the Chief Ministries, including Defense, Home Affairs, Foreign Affairs, Information and Broadcasting, Shakti, Health and Telecom, attended the meeting.
The Prime Minister called for constant vigilance, institutional coordination and clear communication as the nation navigates a sensitive period. He confirmed the government’s commitment for national security, operational preparations and civil security.
