States where schools are closed

The Punjab government on Thursday ordered the shutdown of all educational institutions for the next three days and canceled the leaves of all police personnel amidst increasing tension along the India-Pakistan border.

In the center area of ​​Chandigarh, the common capital of Punjab and Haryana, officials announced the closure of all schools by Saturday.

Punjab shared a 532-km border with Pakistan.

The Government of Jammu and Kashmir also issued an order to close all schools, colleges and universities in the center area for two days as a precautionary measure. Education Minister Sakina Itu said on Thursday, “All schools, colleges and universities in Jammu and Kashmir will remain closed for two days on Friday and Saturday.”

The Rajasthan government has canceled the leave of administrative and police personnel posted near the international border and closed schools in five border districts. These districts are – Shri Ganganagar, Bikaner, Jodhpur, Jaisalmer and Bermer.
