Medical Assistant in Indian Air Force, killed in Pak airstrikes in Udampur

Surendra Kumar, a resident of Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan, who was working as a medical assistant for the Indian Air Force, was killed on Saturday in a Pakistani air attack in Udampur, Jammu and Kashmir.

Surendra Kumar was serving in the medical wing of the Indian Air Force for the last 14 years. He was posted in 39 wing, Udampur. His death was confirmed by the army headquarters, which informed his brother -in -law Jai Prakash via phone. The uncle of the medical assistant, Subhash Moga, recalled him as a patriotic and assistant person, who regularly inspired local youth to join the armed forces.

Surendra Kumar returned to duty on 15 April after spending time with his family.

He recently built a new house in his village, and a ‘Griha Pravesh’ (housewife) ceremony was held a few days before returning to the base. He survived his wife Seema, an 8 -year -old daughter and a 5 -year -old son. His father, Shishupala Singh, a retired CRPF personnel, had already passed away. So far, no official confirmation has been given when the body will be brought to its original village for the last rites.

The wife of the medical assistant, Seema, who was visiting her maternal home in Nawalgarh after the recent death of her grandfather, was admitted to the government district hospital after hearing the news of her husband’s death.

District Collector Ram Avatar Meena and Superintendent of Police Sharad Chaudhary visited Seema in the hospital to inquire about their situation and directed the medical staff to provide special care.

Later, the authorities also visited the village of the medical assistant and met their mother, offering their condolences and support. Surendra Kumar’s sacrifice added the long legacy of Jhunjhunu’s brave sons, who laid down their lives in the service of the nation. Local people said that his death would be remembered with pride and gratitude forever.
