A class 8 student died after a junior stabbed a junior during an argument on a packet of snacks. The incident took place around 7:30 pm last evening near his house in Hubbali, Karnataka. The teenager has been taken into custody.
Boys – Chetan Rakkasagi, 14 and Sai, argued on minor issues, including sharing a packet of snacks, priced at around Rs 5. Soon this argument increased, Sai allegedly attacked Chetan with a knife.
Chetan, a class 8 student, faced serious injuries and was rushed to the hospital. However, Chetan died due to his injuries.
Sai, an Class 6 student, who is accused of killing a senior of his school, has been taken into custody. The investigation of the case is going on.
Habbali-Dharwad Police Commissioner Shashi Kumar expressed disappointment over the “unfortunate” incident. Mr. Kumar also played an alarm on the fact that a 12 -year -old child could think of killing someone.
“It’s unfortunate whether a student of class 6 has developed a mentality to stab someone. Somewhere, it may be the result of violence that he has seen on television or mobile phones, and family and society influence. Everyone should wake up for this incident. It is a small child who is to be an accused,” he said.
