NIOS Guidelines 2025: The National Institute of Open School (NIOS) is a branch of the Directorate of Education, GNCTD, Old Secretariat, Delhi, who registered a government school students who have repeatedly failed in class 9 or 10 in their original school. The purpose of the NIOS project is to bring back such students back to their original school for the next academic year.
Recently, NIOS issued guidelines for students who have failed twice in class 9 or 10 and want to study under it.
The exam will be conducted for students registered in NIOS in April 2026.
NIOS Guidelines 2025: Eligibility Criteria for Admission to NIOS
- Students need to enroll in a government school in the Directorate of Education, to be eligible for admission to GNCTD NIOS.
- Students who have failed or have compartments in minimum two academic years can take admission to NIOS.
- Students who have been declared as failed for the first time are not eligible for admission to NIOS. Such students should continue studying in the school they nominate.
NIOS Guidelines 2025: How to apply for admission to NIOS?
- Students need to ask the head of their school (HOS) to get admission in NIOS.
- The parents of the parents will register students for admission to NIOS through MIS module.
- HOS is essentially providing a copy of the NIOS guidelines, which is eligible to each and each student, which is specified in the NIOS guidelines, is issued by the Directorate of Education, GNCTD.
NIOS Guidelines 2025: Transfer of Credit, Registration Fee
The transfer of credit facility allows students not to reopen for examinations that they have approved in the original school. This facility is allowed only for maximum two subjects and the rupee fee should be paid by the student to transfer their credit.
No registration fee is required to pay by students, but the fee per subject requires a fee of Rs 300 as the examination fee, an additional fee. 150 per subject for practical subjects like painting, home science and rupee fee. There is a need to pay for the transfer of 230 per subject credit.
