In the latest example of cyber attacks with the aim of creating trouble in India amidst tension with Pakistan, a post on X claimed that the Rashtrapati Swarm Sevak Union (RSS) supporters were barred in the family house of Colonel Sophia Qureshi in Belagavi, Rashtrapati. After the police warning, the post was removed.
The XP profile that inserted the post is named “Anees Udin” and the location mentions British Columbia, Canada. The profile supports 405 handles and 31 followers and most posts Pakistan. The cover image features photographs of Pakistan’s first Governor-General Muhammad Ali Jinnah, Army chief General Asim Munir and other top Pakistani defense officers.
“Troubled attacks on the family of the Muslim Indian Army officer. Colonel Sophia Qureshi – the newly appointed spokesperson of the Indian Army – has become the latest target of hate -led hate. According to reliable sources, his family’s house was attacked in Belagavi, Karnataka,” Post said. It added a picture of a barbaric room with things thrown around.
As soon as the police paid attention to the post, a team was taken to the house of Colonel Qureshi’s family in Gokak, Belagavi and everything was found to be normal. Dr. Bhimshankar, the Superintendent of Police of Belgavi, replied to the post, “This is a fake news. As the SP of Belgavi, I would like to warn the people involved in making this post, who is fake to remove it immediately.” The post was removed.
As a precaution, the police have provided security to the house of senior army officer.
Colonel Qureshi was born in Vadodara, Gujarat. She was married to Colonel Tajuddin Bagwadi, who is from Belagavi. Colonel Qureshi’s in -laws Belgavi live at home and often go to meet him.

Fake news around Colonel Qureshi comes amid the flood of cyber attacks launched by Pakistan-Alide Hackers. According to a PTI report, the Maharashtra Cybercrime Police identified seven groups responsible for launching more than 1.5 million cyber attacks targeting important infrastructure websites across India after the Pahgam attack. Officials say only 150 such attacks were successful. In a report called “Road of Sindoor”, the Maharashtra Cyber Agency has expanded the cyber war launched by Pakistan-conferred groups. These groups used several methods, including malware campaigns, distributed refusal attacks and GPS spoofing. Indian websites related to defense were also replaced.
The pieces of information spread during this struggle include claims of cyber attacks on India’s power grid, statewide blackouts, satellite jamming and alleged attack on Brahmin missile storage facility, a senior official said.
