Cabinet cleaned 3,706 crore HCL-Phoxcon chip plant in UP’s tide


New Delhi:

The Union Cabinet on Wednesday approved a semiconductor plant of Rs 3,706 crore in Jews in Uttar Pradesh, which was established by HCL-Phuxcon Joint Entrepreneur for the manufacture of drivers chips for mobile phones, laptops and automobiles.

The plant will have the capacity to handle 20,000 wafers per month, and 3.6 crore chips per month will be produced, Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that giving information about media on the cabinet decision. The minister said that the plant will create a driver chips for a display used in mobile phones, laptops, automobiles and other devices.

“The cabinet has approved a sixth semiconductor plant that will be installed in Jewish, Uttar Pradesh. This performance is a joint venture between HCL and Foxconn to manufacture driver chips. These chips control the quality and format of the material displayed on the screen.

Foxconn is the largest manufacturer of electronic products, including Apple’s iPhone.

“We understand that once it is a unit, the display panel plant will also come in India. It will fulfill India’s 40 percent capacity. It is a big plant. It will also meet the requirements of Foxconn for the rest of the world,” Vaishnav said that these chips control the function and format of the equipment on the screen of the equipment.

The minister said that HCL-Foxconn will be operational in JV 2027.

He said that the plant is expected to make employment for 2,000 people.

The electronics manufacturing industry in India, currently, employs about 2.5 million people, he said.

“Semiconductors are basic components. It will have a multiplier effect on the entire electronics construction in the country,” said Vaishnav.
