These 3 officers will investigate the minister’s comments against Colonel Qureshi

Bhopal:

Following the directions of the Supreme Court, the Madhya Pradesh Police formed a three -member Special Investigation Team (SIT) to investigate the objectionable remarks of Minister of State Vijay Shah against Colonel Sophia Qureshi, who made headlines during the government’s briefing on Operation Sindoor.

The SIT includes Principal of Police, Deputy Inspector General Kalyan Chakraborty and Superintendent of Police Police Vahini Singh.

It comes a day later when the apex court apologized for Mr. Shah’s comment and asked the Madhya Pradesh Police to set up an SIT to investigate the case against him. The court told the minister that his apology was not honest.

“What is that apology? What kind of apology have you given? Justice Surya Kant said.

The court specified that the three-member SIT investigated the case that a woman should be a woman officer and an IG-rank officer should be the head of it. It was also said that IPS officers should be part of SIT from Madhya Pradesh cadre, but should be originally from outside the state.

Pramod Verma has now been posted as Superintendent of Police, Dindori as Inspector General (IG), Sagar Range, Deputy Inspector General (DIG), SAF, Bhopal and Vahini Singh as Kalyan Chakraborty.

The Supreme Court has said that SIT will file its first position report on May 28.

The Madhya Pradesh Minister made headlines due to viral video making objectionable remarks about Colonel Qureshi at a public event. Mr. Shah mentioned the Pahalgam terror attack in which 26 innocent people were killed. The Minister of Tribal Affairs said, “They killed and killed Hindus, and Modi ji sent his sister to return the favor. We could not ignore them, so we sent a daughter from their community … You widen our community sisters, so a sister of your community will nude you.”

The Madhya Pradesh High Court noted the comments and ordered the registration of a cedar. The court said that the “sister of terrorists” comments could affect religious harmony and said that such comments can create a perception, even though he can face only derogatory treatment due to his faith, despite the service of a person for the nation. After the uproar over his comment, the minister expressed regret and said that he honored Colonel Qureshi more than his sister.
