Mumbai:
The Met Department said on Tuesday that some parts of Maharashtra may receive heavy rains with thunderous and esoteric winds between 21 and 24 May, which is after a cyclonic circulation, which is likely to be above the East of the East-Central Arabia from the Karnataka coast.
Regional Meteorological Center, Mumbai, released a release on Tuesday evening, said that a low pressure area is likely to be formed in the same area around 22 May, and after that, it can move north and move forward.
Met Department official Shubangi Bhoot said that rainy activity over Maharashtra could increase under the influence of cyclonic movement between May 21 and May 24.
He said that the weather system is expected to influence parts of Maharashtra including South Konkan, South Central Maharashtra and Mumbai.
“There is a possibility of heavy rains with thunder in some places, as well as up to 30–40 km per hour speed with winds or possibly more in isolated places.”
