Palghar:
Officials said the Collector’s office in Palghar, Maharashtra received an email in the early hours of Tuesday, inspiring the police to evacuate the campus.
A senior police officer said late at night that the danger became a deception, a senior police officer said.
He said that an email was sent to the official ID of the Collectorate around 6.23 pm, stating that RDX was installed in the premises and it would explode at 3.30 pm.
District Superintendent of Police Balasaheb Patil, along with his senior officials, reached the spot and started a search.
Patilel told reporters that teams were stationed at the collectorate with hand -holding metal detectors, and as a precautionary measure, a QRT squad was required, Patil told reporters.
The head of Disaster Management Cell Vivekananda Kadam said that the campus was taken out at 11 am, and a discovery is going on.
Mr. Patil said that the danger message turned out to be fake as no suspicious item was found.
He said that the Palghar police were taking help of Maharashtra Cyber Cell to find out the origin of the mail, and the steps awaited.
