New Delhi:
A Bangalore -based man alleged that the parking was refused after he asked someone to go aside in Hindi. After the incident, The Man, a software engineer at Google, argued that English should become an essential language of India.
One in LinkedIn PostArpit Bhayini said, “Today, I was denied parking just because I asked that person to go aside in Hindi.” He said that most parents, even in small towns and rural areas, prefer to send their children to English-medium schools.
“For everyone who talks about preserving language and culture, whether it is in Maharashtra, Karnataka, or any other state, are you really enrolling your children in schools that teach in regional language, or they are studying in English-middle schools?” He asked.
Mr. Bhayani then claimed that English was rapidly becoming the main language for many people, especially the younger generation.
He said, “Today’s younger generation is much more comfortable in speaking in English than their mother tongue. The city is looking at it more, and will catch the rural areas.”
He said that English will soon become the most commonly used language in the country, as most Indians had already used it in their daily lives. From apps and websites to packaging, advertising, school and work, people already use English everywhere, he said. “So, why not just make English a mandatory language?” He asked.
“A good part of the people is in half the way or some familiarity with the English language for the above reasons,” they continued.
If English becomes a language, it will be easy to communicate in states and people will stop fighting on time on language politics and will turn into real problems like better infrastructure, more jobs and employment, research and innovation, sanitation, hygiene, climate change, healthcare, corruption and urban planning.
Social media users were early to react to this post.
A user commented, “The geopolitical issue is in the game. You did the right thing to get away from that person, not out of fear or weakness but out of clarity, knowledge and time .. Kudos brother!”
Another wrote, “I don’t know where this fundamentalist would stop, first it was religion based, then caste, now the differences between state and language are becoming new issues, at that time when the AI revolution is going on, our country is still caught in these primitive problems.”
“This is an official time for India to choose a language, which will not be an issue between two speakers. No one can leave his regional language, but can agree on English language. And anyway, Indian education and job sector is pushing youth for English. Most famous and brilliant minds go to the west for better opportunities,” another. “
The incident came to light two days after an SBI manager refused to speak in Kannada in Bengaluru. After logic, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah Finance Minister Nirmala Sitarman urged them to give language sensitization training mandate for all bank employees.
