After more than two months of BJP, the Karnataka Legislative Assembly was suspended for six months after, speaker UT Khadar said on Sunday that his suspension had been canceled.
The decision was announced by Mr. Khadher after a meeting with Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivkumar, Leader of Opposition R Ashok and HK Patil, Leader of Opposition R Ashok and HK Patil, Minister of Law and Parliamentary Affairs.

Talking to reporters, he said, “The suspension has been joyous canceled. There are no conditions. Those MLAs are our friends and not enemies, the incident took place in a fit for a moment. To ensure that such incidents do not repeat, I had to take strict action too.”
He further said that the MLAs realized their mistake and they also understood that they could not be able to participate in legislative committee meetings and official tourism. He said in his ability as a speaker, it is his duty to protect the honor of MLAs.
He said, “I am confident that they will not repeat such behavior. With confidence, I canceled the suspension,” he said, the decision will be confirmed by the House during the next session.
The incident occurred towards suspension on the last day of the budget session of the assembly; The BJP MLA demanded a judicial inquiry into the attempt of alleged “honey-jal” against the BJP MLA after mass protests against 4 percent reservation in public contracts and the alleged “honey-jault” against Minister KN Rajanna.
During the protest inside the assembly that day, some BJP MLAs climbed the podium and surrounded the speaker’s chair; Some MLAs in the speaker and marshals provoked the papers and had to forcefully evict the BJP MLA who surrounded the speaker’s chair.
Given that it had been two months after the suspension, the chairman said that all the MLAs expressed regret about the incident and said that they did not intend to show any disrespect on the chair.
He said that Ashok also contacted him several times on the issue and presented a letter in which regretted and assured that such incidents would not be repeated.
“He (Ashoka) requested the legislators to reconsider the decision to allow the MLAs to perform their duties. He also spoke to the Chief Minister and the Law Minister in this regard. Also, Governor and Union Minister Pralhad Joshi and Shobha Karandalaje and other senior leaders contacted in this regard.”
Karnataka Governor Thwarchand Gehlot wrote last month to consider the request of the Chief Minister and the chairman to consider the request of 18 BJP MLAs positively and take necessary steps in this regard.

Asked if the suspension was canceled for fear of a shock. If they go to court, Khadher said there is no need to discuss such things, and that the speaker has some powers. “When the situation comes, let’s discuss it. It was two months, no (MLA) has gone anywhere,” he said.
Answering a question whether the governor’s intervention and the BJP’s plan to use the suspension during the upcoming season decided to cancel it, the speaker said, “I don’t want to discuss it. No one can interfere in the speaker’s decision directly. Suggestions and requests can be made. I have taken those suggestions positively.” Later, Ashok thanked Speaker Khadher for canceling the suspension of 18 MLAs in a post on ‘X’.
“On this occasion, I congratulate all 18 MLAs and party leaders who have cooperated with patience, restraint and discipline in this struggle for the last two months to restore the rights of MLAs,” he posted on ‘X “.
