With WWDC 2025 on the horizon, rumors about the expected announcements are gaining momentum. Now a report suggests that Apple’s upcoming operating system (OS) for iPhone will include support for a new functionality in iOS 19, which transfers ESIM from an iPhone to a quick process in a quick process in Android smartphone. The feature was discovered after delaying the code of one of the apps included in Android 16 QPR1 beta 1 update, which was released last week.
Transfer from iPhone to ESIM from Android
After Android 16 QPR1 beta 1 update, new facility was discovered in Google’s SIM Manager App, Android Authority ReportCode strings refer to that the upcoming iOS 19 update of Apple may enable support ESIMS to move to the Android handset. A new page dubbed Transfer to Android Settings> General> Transfer or Reset will be added under iPhone. It is said to be similar to ESIM Quick Transfer of Apple that lets you move their esims from one iPhone to another.
This feature will generate a QR code that may require to scan on Android phones. It requires “session ID” on Android devices and an passcode. However, it is unknown if both of them will be generated by the iPhone.
One of the code strings, "Still can't connect wirelessly?"
Suggestions that the process will be only when two phones are connected in a wireless manner. If this does not, it can be due to the iPhone not running on the latest iOS 19 firmware.
While you can still move an ESIM from an iPhone to the Android device, this is a difficult process, including contacting the carrier or service provider and activating to start transfer or get a QR code to start transfer. Meanwhile, completing the same activity between two iPhone models or two Android devices is a very simple process.
If this feature is actually part of the iOS 19, then it is likely that Apple may preview the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2025 that occurs next month. The company is expected to demonstrate changes during the IOS 19 to show their new OS update, as well as all new additions and changes during the initial keynote speaker.
