The committee claimed that when the relatives of the woman gave Dr. When contacted Dhananjay Kelkar (Medical Director), he advised him to pay as much as he wanted, but he did not follow his advice.
It also said that according to senior gynecologists, the woman’s twin pregnancy was dangerous.
“Despite the fact that the hospital was known to the family of the deceased, it did not come to the hospital to operate the required postpartum care (ANC) checkup in the last six months. The said complaint has been excluded from anger and disappointment due to the patient’s death,” the report said.
It also said that Ms. Bhis was visiting the hospital since 2020 for treatment and medical advice.
“In 2023, she was advised to go to adoption as a safe pregnancy and delivery was difficult. According to the normal practice of hospitals, the ANC of a pregnant woman should be done at least three times to ensure the safety of the fetus and mother. But (in this case) the said process was not done in the hospital,” the report has been said.
On March 15, Dr. from the woman and her family of the hospital. Sushruta met Gais, who informed him about the high -risk nature of pregnancy and asked him to return for a weekly checkup. Accordingly, he expected on 22 March, but it did not happen, the report states.
On March 28, the woman, her husband and other relatives Dr. Ghisas came to the outpatient department (OPD), but the patient did not visit the emergency or labor room that day.
“In the OPD, Dr. Ghisas did his medical check up. She was normal and did not require any kind of emergency treatment. However, since the pregnancy was of a high -risk category, it was advised to be admitted for medical observation,” it was said.
The family was informed about the Caesarean section process and NICU doctors were introduced to the family as a seven -weight fetus of seven months, in association with the history of chronic disease, required NICU treatment for at least two to two and a half months, “The report said that relatives were informed about the estimated expenses of RS for 10 lakhs.
“Family members asked us to start treatment and said that they would try to arrange for money. Relatives then called Medical Director Dr. Kelkar and made him aware of his difficulty in arranging for money. Dr. Kelkar then told him that he could do as much as he could and he assured him that he was informing Dr. Kelkar.
It has also been mentioned that Dr. Ghisas admitted that the family was busy arranging money.
The report said, “The woman’s husband was also advised that even though he failed to arrange the money, he can take the patient (government -run) to the Sassoon General Hospital as complex surgery can be performed and infants can be seen properly in Nicu there.”
