Members of social organizations on Tuesday burnt effigies of Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai in several districts to condemn the rape and murder of a six -year -old girl in Durg City, Chhattisgarh.
The Durg District Bar Council announced that it would not represent the accused in the court.
On Sunday, a six -year -old girl was sexually assaulted and murdered in Mohan Nagar police station area. The child went to his grandmother’s house in the neighborhood for a ceremony on the ninth day of the ‘Navratri’ festival, when his 24 -year -old uncle sexually assaulted, killed him and later kept the body in a neighbor’s car.
Members of social organizations, including an organization of the Yadav community, in which the victims, took out rallies in the city and raised slogans condemning the heinous crime.
The Yadav community demanded a CBI inquiry into the incident and submitted a memorandum to the Durg Collector, in which a assistance of Rs 50 lakh for the girl’s mother and a government job for her.
“We have demanded a detailed investigation into the incident by the investigating agencies like CBI. The accused should be sentenced to death. We have also assisted Rs 50 lakh and government job for the victim’s mother.”
The Chhattisgarh Mahana society strongly condemned the incident and demanded a ban on porn sites.
Neeta Jain, president of the Durg Bar Council, termed the Act as heinous and inhuman and said that it has decided not to represent the accused.
In the middle, it is reported that the child was tortured with a cigarette and his body was burnt.
However, he said that the body was placed in a steep car, and the blisters must have appeared on it due to heat.
The opposition Congress protested against the incident and burnt the effigy of Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai in several districts including Raipur, Durg and Rajnandgaon.
The party demanded the resignation of Deputy Chief Minster Vijay Sharma, who also keeps home portfolio, alleged that the law and order situation has deteriorated.
