An official said on Friday that the Goa police arrested a person for allegedly killing his wife as he was allegedly upset with alcohol dependence.
The incident took place on 30 April in the city of Fatorda in South Goa, he said.
Originally West Bengal accused Krishna Roy allegedly defeated his wife with a stick and a belt on the frequent consumption of alcohol, which he died, he said.
He fled to Goa after the alleged crime, who was arrested from Kolkata.
It was not immediately clear who alerted the police about the crime.
