Accused of providing “question paper” before NEET exam in Bihar

Police arrested a person from Araria district of Bihar for alleged involvement in cheating medical candidates from NEET-UG held on May 4 across the country.

The police said on Monday that the arrested fraudsters were accused of providing “question paper” to the candidates “question paper”.

The Sleeves of the Economic Offenses Unit (EOU) and Araria Police raised the accused on 3 May.

“Acting on a tip-off that a group of fraudsters was allegedly taking money from NEET Aspirants, promising them wrongly to provide question papers before the exam, the EOU alerted its cyber unit in Araria and the district police. A team was formed and Sk Faiz was arrested to cheat medical aspirators.”

The investigation also revealed that the accused cheated the students and shifted the money to their account, said.

Further investigation is on, it was added.

The Bhar Police had warned aspires and parents against the phone calls made by cyber fraudsters to provide question papers before the NEET-OG exam.

The EOU arrested Sanjeev Kumar Singh alias Sanjeev Mukhiya last month, who was the alleged mastermind of NEET (UG) -24 paper leak case from Patna. He also wanted his alleged involvement in the paper leak case of Bihar Public Service Commission Teacher Recruitment Examination (TRE-3) held in March 2024.

According to officials, the chief’s gang is spread over Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab and Rajasthan and it was behind the leak of paper in many recruitment examinations in many states.
