Adani Power Limited said on Saturday that it has won a tightly bid bid to supply 1500 MW (NET) thermal power to Uttar Pradesh.

“We are happy to win a competitive bid to supply a 1,500 MW power to play a leading role in meeting the state’s rapidly growing power demand. We plan to set up a modern and low emissions ultra-supercratical plant in UP and aims to start the supply of reliable and high-quality power by FY30.”
Khayalia said that the Adani power plant and the installation of the related infrastructure would invest $ 2 billion.
The project is expected to generate direct and indirect employment of 8,000-9,000 during the construction phase and 2,000 in operation.
The demand for thermal power in UP is scheduled to increase by 2033-34 to 11,000 MW, due to factors like industrialization, urbanization and modernization. This 1,500 MW order is part of the government’s initiative to meet the demand for that future.
