New Delhi:
In the midst of increasing tension between India and Pakistan after the last week’s terrorist attack in Pehlgam in Jammu and Kashmir, 26 people were killed, the prominent military officials of the two countries have spoken on the hotline and New Delhi has warned Islamabad against the “illiterate violation”, along with the line of control, the sources have told the news agency.
“The directors of the military operations of India and Pakistan spoke on the hotline yesterday to discuss the untoward ceasefire violations by Pakistan. India warned Pakistan against unprotected violations with the line of control by the Pakistan Army.”
The details of the conversation came a day when Pakistan violated the ceasefire along the international border in Jammu after resorting to unsafe firing along the line of control for six straight days.
A defense spokesperson said, “Regarding the previous updates about 29-30 April (night), the firing of unrealing small arms by the Pakistan Army was also informed by the Line of Control in Baramulla and Kupwara districts as well as their positions during the Line of Control on the International Border in Pargwal region,” a defense spokesperson said that the soldiers of the Indian Army “responded properly”.
Firing on the international border is rare and is seen as an increase from Pakistan after the Pahgam terror attack.
