Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay on Saturday joined several other major educational institutions in India to cancel agreements with Turkish universities on its support to Pakistan.

The Premier Technological Institute in India wrote on X, “Due to the current geopolitical status related to Turkey, IIT Bombay is processing the suspension of its agreements with Bombay Turkish universities.”

Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) and Jamia Millia Islamia in Delhi also announced similar moves.

Boycott Türkiye, Azerbaijan trick

Indian tourists have started canceling Türkiye and Azerbaijan trips on their support for Pakistan.

CAIT said on Friday that the decision includes a nationwide boycott of Türkiye and Azerbaijony goods, in which traders across India have stopped imports from these countries.

The association also said that Indian exporters, importers and commercial delegations would be discouraged with any association with companies or institutions located in Türkiye and Azerbaijan.

“This proposal comes in response to the recently made stand by Turkey and Azerbaijan in open support of Pakistan, when India is facing a sensitive and important national security situation,” said this.
