New Delhi:
The AAM AADMI party on Sunday called the BJP-led dispensation on waterlogging in Delhi as a “four-engine” government failure. In response, the BJP said that the government took responsibility and worked to restore the general situation instead of indulging in the blame.
Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena also shared videos of major drains with a free flow in the city.
One night thunder with heavy rains disrupted flight operations, uprooted trees and electric poles, and caused waterlogging in many areas of the city.
According to the Meteorological Department of India, the primary weather station of the city recorded 82 km per hour and 81.2 mm rainfall in six hours between 11.30 am on Saturday and 5.30 am on Sunday.
The AAM AADMI party (AAP) released several videos on X, which showed the flood limit and claimed that the Public Works Department (PWD) Minister Parvesh Verma was abroad at an important time. There was no immediate response to Verma.
AAP Delhi Unit chief Saurabh Bhardwaj and Leader of Opposition in the Delhi Assembly, Atiya convicted the BJP for the fence.
After posting a video of waterlogging in ITO, AAP said, “When Delhi wakes up this morning, they drowned the city. It is the result of the so-called four-engine government. A little rain and roads are flooded. These waterfalls tell roads to tell the roads of the BJP’s broken four-down government.”
Honorable PWD Minister @P_sahibsingh Yes,
Your Delhi Police is opening the poll of your 4 engine Khatara government.
But where are you? Delhi is submerged and you are missing… .. https://t.co/ylxevqwozd

The party also highlighted the situation on Minto Road, an old waterlogging hotspot.
The party said in another post, “Even a little rain led to waterlogging under the Minto Bridge, where a car was drowned. A few days ago, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and Minister Parvesh Verma came here for a photoshoot. He did nothing beyond clicking the pictures.” The party said in another post.
Videos of Dhaula Kuan and Chanakyapuri were also shared.
The party said, “There is not a single part of Delhi, where the BJP’s unsuccessful four-engine government has not created a reason for waterlogging. Even one of the VIP areas of Delhi and one of the houses for many embassies, Chanakyapuri was submerged after a mild shower.”
AAP Delhi chief Saurabh Bhardwaj posted a series of videos on X, highlighting the plight of the city.
“If a minister has to travel abroad, he needs to get permission from the Ministry of Home Affairs. This file goes through the Chief Minister and the Lieutenant Governor. So everyone knows that Sahib Singh (Parvesh Verma) is not in India. The BJP and its leadership are hiding the fact that in these times of crisis, his PWD minister is in USA?” He questioned.
Sharing pictures of a Timarpur road, Mr. Bhardwaj said, “Here is the situation in Timarpur under the four -engine government: Prime Minister? Can BJP tell us where he is? ”Former Delhi Chief Minister Atisi also posted a series of videos after overnight rains.
He said, “The same happens with Delhi after just one magic of rain under the BJP’s four-engine government.”
Atisi also shared a video from the ITO, stating that there was waterlogging just outside the PWD headquarters. “Where is PWD Minister Parvesh Verma hidden?” He asked.
Responding to the AAP allegations, Delhi BJP chief Virendra Sachdeva claimed that the situation was bad till last year due to the negligence of the then government, and now it has improved significantly.
Mr. Sachdeva said that when the people of Delhi woke up on Sunday morning, they faced several complaints of the fallen trees and a storm late last night caused waterlogging.
“After the instructions of Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, all BJP MLAs and councilors, along with officials of Delhi Jal Board and Public Works Department, took them to the streets” despite being Sunday. By 9 am, most trees were cleaned and many waterlogging were removed, which reduced traffic across the city. By noon, the situation was brought under control, “he said in a statement.
Mr. Sachdeva stressed that while the Kejriwal government will blame LG and officials for waterlogging and leave the citizens on the mercy of fate, the BJP government takes responsibility and works to actively normalize the situation with the authorities.
He said that after every rainy season, the people of Delhi can clearly see the difference between former Arvind Kejriwal government and the current BJP -led administration.
Meanwhile, LG Saxena praised the Delhi government for efforts to reduce the waterfall and said that “Moras” was set due to neglect of more than a decade.
“It is encouraging the Irrigation and Flood Control Department to flow our drains and to try to reduce waterlogging amidst heavy unexpected rains. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has begun to show results. Major drains have started showing results.
