Agra man allegedly harasses a check tourist at Taj Mahal, arrested

Police said on Sunday that a person was arrested for allegedly harassing and touching a tourist from the Czech Republic, who was visiting the Taj Mahal.

The alleged incident took place on 3 April and the arrest took place after a thorough investigation.

In a written complaint at the tourist police station, the woman alleged that she was “improperly touched and harassed”, running around 1 pm along the crematorium.

The police registered a case and started an investigation, in which several teams were deployed to arrest the accused.

Assistant Police Commissioner (Taj Security) Syed Arab Ahmed said, “A case was registered on the complaint of a foreign woman. Several teams were deployed to search the accused. (By footage) several CCTV cameras covering the area were scanned. After investigation, accused Karan Rathore was arrested on Sunday.”

The officer said that the woman has recognized Rathore as an accused and has been taken into custody.
