Air Force Instructor suffers from injuries during parachute jump in Agra, dies

During a training exercise in Agra on Saturday, the Indian Air Force has suffered its second major loss in four days of the death of a para jump instructor. A jaguar fighter jet pilot died on Wednesday after an aircraft crashed in Jamnagar, Gujarat during a training on Wednesday.

The Air Force said that the Akash was from the Ganga Skyding Team that the para jump instructor died due to injuries during a ‘demo drop’, a technical term for a training exercise.

“A para jump instructor of IAF’s Akash Ganga Skyding Team succumbed due to injuries during a demo drop in Agra today. IAF persuaded the loss, and expanded the hearty condolences to the bereaved family, which stood firmly with him in this hour,” Indian Air Force tweeted.

NDTV has learned that the warrant officer’s parachute was deployed, but he suffered injuries and died in a hospital.

Flight Lieutenant Siddharth Yadav, resident of Rewari, died on Wednesday after his twin seater Jaguar aircraft crashed in Jamnagar on Wednesday. The 28-year-old had ensured that his co-pilot was thrown out and he had taken away the crashed jet from densely populated areas.

Yadav was promoted for flight lieutenant two years ago. He had engaged in March and was scheduled to get married in November.
