Air Marshal Narmadeshwar Tiwari took over as the new Vice President of the Air Staff on Friday.
He succeeds Air Marshal SP Dhakar, who performed a supernown on 30 April.

Before taking charge as the Deputy Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Tiwari served as the Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief (AOC-in-C) of South Western Air Command (SWAC) in Gandhinagar.
Air Marshal was given a guard of honor in Air Headquarters – Vayu Bhavan.
He was commissioned in the fighter stream in June 1986. An alumni of the National Defense Academy, he passed the gold medalist of the President.
Air Marshal Tiwari has blown a variety of aircraft, and a qualified flight instructor as well as an experimental test pilot, the Ministry of Defense said in a statement earlier.
Air Marshal has an experience of rich sector, including mainly operating testing of various weapons and systems at Mirage -20000. He was actively involved in operation and also participated in several important missions during the Kargil conflict, it was said.
Air Marshal took over as AOC-in-C, SWAC in May 2023.
