Akhilesh Yadav-Ambedkar Edit attracts BJP’s anger

UP Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak also labeled the poster “the reflection of the corrupt mentality of the SP and a deliberate attempt to insult Babasaheb”.

Neither Akhilesh Yadav nor SP have replied so far.

The BJP underlines the tension between its and the SP in the build-up in the 2027 assembly elections. Since UP 2017, a BJP has been a stronghold when Yogi Adityanath led the party to a win. He won again in 2022 but the margin was quite small.

The SP of Mr. Yadav is widely seen as a potential (strong) challenger for the BJP in the state of Heartland, especially after surprisingly confidently showing confidence in the federal election of 2024, in which his party won 37 of the 62 seats, which was more than the BJP which lost 29 to the last election.
