The Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) has issued notices to several e-commerce companies including Amazon India and Flipkart on the sale of Pakistani flags and related goods, Consumer Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi said on Wednesday.
In its notices, Ubui India, ATC, Flag Company and Flag Corporation were also issued, the regulatory body said that the sale of Pakistani flags and goods would not be tolerated. It directed the firms to remove such items from their platforms, Mr. Pralhad.
There was no immediate comment from Amazon India, Flipkart or the remaining e-commerce firms on the matter. Click here for India Pakistan News live update
In a post on X, the Union Minister said: “CCPA has issued notices to @Amazonin, @flipkart, @Buyindia, @atsy, flag company and flag corporation on the sale of Pakistani flags and related goods. Such insensitivity will not be directed to be removed immediately.”

The minister said that the CCPA will issue formal guidelines under Section 18 (2) (L) of the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 with a view to compliance with Digital Marketplace and strengthen consumer security measures. He said that vendors have been directed to strictly follow all applicable regulatory standards to maintain consumer rights and prevent illegal trade practices.
