Among Pahalgam victims, America is traveling with Kolkata Teki wife, son

Forty -year -old TCS Techie Bitan Adhikary, who worked and lived in Florida, came to his Kolkata home on 8 April with his wife Sohini and his three -year -old son. He traveled to Kashmir last week and was to return on Thursday. Last afternoon, Biton was shot by terrorists in Pahgam, Jammu and Kashmir, with at least 25 other people in one of the most heinous attacks in the valley so far. His wife and son are safe and the government is trying to bring him home.

Biton’s elderly father, crushing his son’s loss, told Anandbazar Patrika, “He wanted to take all of us along. But I asked him to go with his daughter -in -law. I still talked to him today, even in the afternoon. What happened after that,” he said.

Biton’s brother said, “I talked to my younger brother this morning. He told me that once he returned from Kashmir, we would plan an extended holiday nearby. We did not know that this would be the last time we would speak.”

Bengal Minister Arup Biswas met family members in his Kolkata house. He said, “The State Home Department and Resident Commissioner in New Delhi are in touch with the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Government of Jammu and Kashmir to ensure that the body is brought back as soon as possible.”

At least 26 people, including two foreign nationals, were shot dead in a tourist hotspot, Pahalgam yesterday afternoon. The attack on citizens is the most heinous terrorist strike in recent times. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who was visiting Saudi Arabia, reduced his journey and returned today. Union Home Minister Amit Shah reached Srinagar last night and met Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and Lt Governor Manoj Sinha. Currently, there are a search operation in the security forces area.
