According to the claims of an experienced journalist, Apple will eventually begin to onboard the Siri with more advanced capabilities next year. Cupertino-based tech veteran Artificial Intelligence (AI)-In the Well Voice Assistant 2024, IOS 18 was due to achieving major upgrades with 18, but most of those plans were sheltered as it fell behind the contestants in the AI race. Apple is now expected to release the advanced facilities of Siri, including a new app intent system system for Apple devices earlier next year.
Siri upgrade in 2026
Mark Gurman of Bloomberg left signs about the upcoming upgradation of Apple’s Siri in the latest edition Power on newspaper. According to the journalist, a long -awaited Siri overhaul will be with an app intent feature that was expected to come in the first iOS 18 update cycle.
It is a structure that enables developers to expand the custom functionality of their app, including to include supports for system-level experiences such as shortcuts, ciri, spotlight, widgets, and more. App Intents, in association with Apple Intelligence, will enable the Voice Assistant to suggest app action to find users to find new features and help in apps and take more action.
According to Gurman, this new system for Siri will allow users to find a specific picture, edit it and send it using nothing but their voice. They will also be able to comment on an Instagram post, browse through a shopping platform and add something to their car, and even login to a service without the need to touch the screen.
The journalist said, “Essentially, Siri can operate your apps like you – with accuracy, inside your own interfaces”.
Tech giants are currently reported to test the new tail with many third-party apps including Amazon, Facebook, Temu, Threads, Uber, WhatsApp and YouTube. It is also testing the revised voice assistant in some sports. However, Gurman said that Apple is considering disabled or limiting some new Siri features in banking and health apps. This is to ensure that the voice auxiliary does not make important mistakes that were reported to be during internal testing.
These upgrade is expected to be released with iOS 26.4 updates in the next spring. In particular, the company released the iOS 18.4 update on 1 April and its iOS 26 equivalent can be rolled out around the same time in 2026.
